Radke; Senior Planner, Current Development <br />DATE: September 30, 2002 <br />SUBJECT: Indian River County's Request for Final Plat Approval for Martin Luther King Jr. <br />Community Center Subdivision <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of <br />County Commissioners at its regular meeting of October 8 2002. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS: <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center is a subdivision of a 9.69 -acre parcel into two lots. <br />The subject site is located west of 28t Avenue, between 47th Street and 45th Street is zoned RM - <br />10, Residential Multi -Family (up to 10 units per acre), and has a PUB, Public, land use <br />designation. <br />Currently, a historic church building and accessory "park" improvements (includes restroom <br />facilities) are located on the overall site of a former cemetery. Both the church building and the <br />park area are located at the southern end of the overall site. As proposed, the subdivision will <br />create a northern lot and a southern lot. The southern lot will contain the existing church <br />building and park area, while the northern lot will be the site for the proposed Gifford Health <br />Center.
