Cox, P.E., Civil Engineer IYCX_ <br />SUBJECT: Request for Floodplain Cut and Fill Balance Waiver for Lot 16, Block 17, <br />Vero Lake Estates Unit 3 <br />REFERENCE: Project No. 2002090038-32199 <br />DATE: September 26, 2002 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Ameron Homes, Inc. submitted a building permit application for a single-family residence on the <br />subject property. The site is located in an AE special flood hazard zone, base flood elevation 22.3 ft. <br />N G V D In the attached letter from the applicant's engineer dated September 12, 2002, a waiver of <br />the cut and fill requirements is requested. The lot area is 1.07 acres. The volume of the 100 -year <br />floodplain displaced by the proposed grading plan is estimated to be 836.0 cubic yards. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The waiver request has been reviewed by staff and appears to meet the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2)(d)4. of the Stormwater Management and Flood Protection Ordinance for lots located in the <br />Vero Lake Estates Municipal Services Taxing Unit. <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Grant the cut and fill balance waiver based on the criteria of Section 930.07(2)(d)4. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the cut and fill waiver. Require an on site retention area be provided to compensate for the <br />proposed floodplain displacement. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends approval ofAltemative No. 1. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
