Mrs Clem thanked the Board for listening, understanding and providing the necessary <br />resources to enable her to do the job. She then thanked her staff and noted that she has quite a <br />team who jumped right in there with the "big" guys (referring to Palm Beach, Broward and <br />Miami -Dade Counties) and did a wonderful job. She noted that her staff has worked more than <br />one long weekend since 1999 and countless overtime hours. She also thanked the families of her <br />staff for coping with the many overtime hours which enabled her office to complete the recent <br />elections in an excellent manner. <br />Chairman Stanbridge added her thanks to the Building and Grounds staff and to General <br />Services Director Tom Frame for their excellent work and cooperation in preparing for and <br />completing the move of the Elections Office. <br />5,C. PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING NOVEMBER 24-30 AS CHRISTIAN HERITAGE <br />WEEK IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />Commissioner Ginn presented the following Proclamation which was accepted by Bob <br />Johnson* <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING NOVEMBER 24 - 30, 2002, AS <br />CHRISTIAN HERITAGE WEEK IN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />WHEREAS, during the season and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, it is right and just to <br />recognize the contributions and sacrifices of our Founding Fathers; and <br />WHEREAS, the preamble of the Constitution of the State of Florida provides: "We, <br />the people of the State of Flonda, being grateful to Almighty God for our constitutional <br />liberty, in order to secure its benefits, perfect our government, insure domestic tranquility, <br />maintain public order, and guarantee equal civil and political rights to all...."; and <br />WHEREAS, the Constitution of the State of Florida guarantees the free exercise of <br />religion; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners opens its meetings with an <br />avocation. <br />NOVEMBER 12, 2002 <br />8 <br />t <br />
