Keating, AICP <br /> Community DevelopmentWirector <br /> FROM : Stan Boling�AI�CP <br /> Planning Director <br /> DATE: November 13 , 2000 <br /> SUBJECT : Final Hearing on Proposed LDR Amendments: Civic and Social Membership <br /> Clubs, and Group Homes and ALFs in the MED District <br /> It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners at its meeting of November 21 , 2000. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> At its regular meeting of November 7 , 2000, the Board of County Commissioners held the first of <br /> two public hearings on the following two proposed LDR amendment ordinances : <br /> 1 . Civic and Social Membership Clubs ( BCC- initiated ) <br /> 2 . Group Homes and ALFs in the MED District ( staff - initiated ) <br /> At the November 7" meeting, the Board of County Commissioners considered recommendations <br /> and public input, did not direct staff to make any changes to either of the proposed ordinances , and <br /> indicated its intent to approve each of the proposed ordinances at the November 21 , 2000 final <br /> hearing (see attachment # 1 ). Each of the proposed ordinances is in final form and ready for Board <br /> adoption. <br /> ANALYSIS : <br /> • Civic and Social Membership Clubs <br /> At the November 7" meeting, after an opportunity for input, the Board voted 5 -0 to bring back <br /> unchanged the proposed LDR amendment ordinance on civic and social membership clubs for final <br /> adoption . That ordinance is in final form ( see attachment #2 ) and would allow civic and social <br /> membership clubs as special exception uses in M- 1 and M-2 residentially designated areas subject <br /> to special location, buffering, and setback criteria. <br /> November 21 , 2000 <br /> 37 <br /> BK 116 PG 195 <br />
