• Group Homes and ALFs in the MED District
At the November 7'h meeting, the Board voted 5 -0 to bring back unchanged the proposed LDR
amendment ordinance on group homes and ALFs in the MED district. That ordinance, which would
allow group homes and ALFs ( adult living facilities ) as permitted uses in the MED district, is in
final form for Board adoption (see attachment #3 ) .
RECOMMENDATION :
Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the two attached LDR amendment
ordinances .
ATTACHMENTS :
1 . Excerpts of Draft Minutes from November 7, 2000 Board of County Commissioners Meeting
_' . Ordinance on Civic and Social Membership Clubs
3 . Ordinance on Group Homes and ALFs in the MED District
The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in
this matter .
Ray Scent, 1615 71st Court, had no objection unless member clubs would be allowed
to have bars within the medical district . He felt bars or night clubs would be inappropriate
within a medical district .
Chairman Adams clarified that the social clubs were not within the medical district
but in the multi- family districts . The group homes and the assisted living facilities are being
proposed to go in the medical district .
Mr. Scent felt the County did not need that type of activity in either district , housing
or medical .
It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the
public hearing .
November 21 , 2000
38
8K 1 16 PG 19 6
c
