11.G.3e INDIAN RIVER COUNTY/SCHOOL DISTRICT COMPLEX <br />AND PUBLIC WORKS COMPLEX — AMENDMENT #2 TO THE <br />PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />CONTRACT — HANSON PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of December 3, 2001: <br />TO: James E. River County/School District Complex and <br />Public Works Complex - Amendment #2 to the <br />Professional Architectural/Engineering Services Contract <br />DATE: December 31 2001 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The County Public Works Department staff has negotiated <br />Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Architecture/Engineering <br />Services Contract between Hanson Professional Services, Inc. and <br />Indian River County. Amendment No. 2 calls for additional services <br />in the amount of $10,700. Most of the costs are due to the <br />decision to divide the project into two independent bid packages <br />since the new Fleet Maintenance facility will have to be <br />constructed first so the existing facility can remain open. Also, <br />the County staff discovered several emergency generators currently <br />owned by the County that the consultant was asked to evaluate. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The alternatives presented are as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve Amendment No. 2 to the original Architectural/ <br />Engineering Services Agreement dated Feb. 10, 1998. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny approval and renegotiate. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Alternative No. 1 is recommended whereby the Amendment No. 2 <br />the Local <br />the Chairman is authorized to execute the agreement.
