There is no major initiative on the horizon. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn assured the Board that the County is nowhere near mandatory <br />garbage collection but it is in the long range plan. The UAC meets at 2 PM on the first <br />Thursday of each month and the public is welcome. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge suggested the Press Journal's reporter note that information <br />for publication so the public is informed. <br />Chairman Adams commented that she would have liked to have known about this <br />issue because she felt Tike she was "ambushed" since she did not know anything about it. <br />Commissioner Stanbridge interjected that because she and Chairman Adams r+present <br />rural areas, they have been the Board members who have received the mast phone calls <br />objecting to the idea. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn explained that the draft of the Master Plan had just been <br />received; the objectives in it were seen by the UAC for the first time. It will nor, come <br />before the Board until the UAC makes its recommendation. She advised that it waa a sore <br />point and evoked a lot of discussion at the UAC meeting, but emphasized that no decisions Ir <br />were made. She felt that in the long run, it is probably the best thing for the County and, if <br />3 <br />approved, would have to be phased in. t <br />Chairman Adams was concerned that in the long -run it may be the best thing for the <br />County, but it would not be the best thing for the citizens because they will be picking up <br />those costs that the County is now paying. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn thought it was a good thing that this had come to the Beard. <br />14.A.
