Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS � <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />1. On September 5, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved a grant from the Indian <br />River County Healthy Start Coalition to fund a parent education opportunities program. <br />This grant provides funding for salaries, benefits, and operating costs associated with <br />the program. The attached entry appropriates these grant funds. <br />2. The Multi -Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) Unit has requested the release of <br />$6,000 from the Multi -Jurisdiction Trust Fund. The attached entry appropriates Binding. <br />3. The Indian River County Library has received a "Bom to Read" grant from the=lorida <br />Department of State in the amount of $6,754. The attached entry appropriates Binding. <br />4. The new Teamsters contract, which was approved on October 3, 2000, provides for a <br />$60.00 boot allowance for employees required to wear steel -toe safety boots, Only <br />$30.00 was budgeted per employee for this expense. The attached entry appro �riates <br />funding for the difference. <br />5. On November 21, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved an Article V Grant from <br />the State for $31,538. The attached entry appropriates the use of the grant funds. <br />6. On November 21, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved a Court Reworting <br />Grant -In -Aid from the State of Florida for $26,784. This is greater than the amount <br />budgeted forthis grant. As such, the attached entry appropriates the additional funds. <br />7. Friends of the Library intends to donate funds to the library for the book leasing <br />program. The attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of $15,000. <br />8. The annual maintenance contract for the Court Reporting system has exceeded the <br />amount budgeted by $7,715.
