9. The new Teamsters contract, which was approved on October 3, 2000, eliminated the <br />employee contribution of $1.00 per week for uniforms. The attached entry apprgpriates <br />funding for the County to pick up this cost. <br />10. The annual maintenance contract for the air conditioning system at the Courthouse <br />exceeded the amount budgeted. The attached entry provides funding forthe difference <br />form General Fund contingencies. <br />11. American Heritage River has raised funding to produce a video promoting eco -tourism <br />along the Indian River. Indian River County's portion is $5,000, and funding is akailable <br />from Tourist Development Fund cash forward. <br />12. On October 17, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved a Groundwater Mornitoring <br />and Remediation Plan at the Gifford Closed Landfill Site at a cost of $573,13. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding from Optional Sales Tax cash forward revenues <br />and contingencies. <br />13. On May 2, 2000, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Chamber of Con• merce <br />to solicit proposals for a tourism study on behalf of the County. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding in the amount of $64,741 from Tourist Development cash forward. <br />14. The chiller at the Main Library is in need of replacement. Since an expan,;ion is <br />planned during the current year at the library, it is not financially feasible to reply ce the <br />unit. The best solution is to lease a chiller while the expansion is under construction. <br />Once the expansion is complete, a new, larger chiller will be installed to service the <br />entire library. Funding is provided by General Fund contingencies. <br />15. On October 3, 2000, the Board of Commissioners approved a new empf yment <br />contract with the Teamsters Union. The contract provides fora 3% Cost oI ving <br />Adjustment (COLA) for all employees in the bargaining unit. Non-union emp oyees <br />were given this same COLA increase. The attached entry appropriates funding from <br />contingencies in the appropriate funds. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached tudget <br />amendment. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously approved <br />Budget Amendment 002, as recommended in the memorandum. <br />December 12, 2000 <br />30 <br />BY <br />Ii5PG�60 <br />
