RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 124 <br />WHEREAS, such sale must be authorized by resolution of the Board of <br />County Commissioners, duly adopted, setting forth the fact of such application <br />being made, the purpose for which such property is to be used, and the price; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on February 13, 2001 the Board of County Commissioners <br />approved the purchase of real property from Mel Martinez, Secretary, <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development, of Washington, D.C., known as <br />584 5th Street, S.W., Vero Beach, Florida, and further described as Lot 18, Block <br />2, Dixie Gardens Unit 4, in accordance with the HUD Dollar Homes initiative to <br />create housing for families in need and to revitalize neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, under the HUD Dollar Homes program the County shall <br />make the property available to a true not-for-profit organization for rehabilitation <br />and resale to a first-time homebuyer, thus the home can then act as a catalyst <br />for neighborhood revitalization; and <br />WHEREAS, an application has been received from Indian River <br />Homeless Services Council, Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation, requesting that <br />the property be conveyed to it for a nominal fee of $1.00, agreeing to rehabilitate <br />the property and make it available pursuant to the HUD Dollar Home Program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, that the application from Indian River Homeless Services Council, <br />Inc. is hereby accepted, and the property known as 584 5th Street, S.W., Vero <br />Beach, Florida, and further described as Lot 18, Block 2, Dixie Gardens Unit 4, is <br />authorized to be sold to Indian River Homeless Services Council, Inc. in "as <br />DECEMBER 18, 2001 <br />-26. <br />
