Director Keating responded that staff had also suggested that and that is essentially <br />what is proposed. The applicant had reasons to decline a PD. <br />Attorney Barkett noted that at the time they were discussing the plan with staff, the <br />Board was having a lot of hesitation about PDs and this is a logical rezoning request. <br />Director Keating noted that the proposal is a preliminary plan and meets the <br />requirements of RS -6 zoning. <br />Bill Hall, 1453 32nd Avenue SW, expressed concerns about the increased traffic and <br />the proposed right -turn -only lane at Oslo Road. There are children walking and riding <br />bicycles in this neighborhood and the traffic is already unsafe. <br />Director Keating stated that the plan is compatible with the County's grid pattern. <br />Staff believes that the traffic will take 13"' Street SW east, make a left at 27" Avenue SW, <br />and then make a left at the traffic signal to get to Oslo Road. <br />Deputy Robert Haas, 1423 32°d Avenue SW, believed that residents will go to the <br />33`d Avenue intersection with Oslo which is already dangerous and this increased density <br />will only compound the problem. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard regarding this matter <br />being none, the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />DECEMBER 4, 2001 <br />-89- <br />There <br />
