• Affordable Housing Supply <br />For purposes of this report, affordable housing supply is the number of housing units which are <br />subsidized with government funds. The countywide estimate of the current affordable housing <br />supply using that definition is 2,253 units. There are another 239 units either under consideration <br />for approval or under construction which brings the total to 2.492 units. <br />o Number of Assisted and Subsidized Housing Units <br />Like affordable housing demand, affordable housing supply. in this case subsidized units. can be <br />divided into two categories. These are rental units and owner units. The rental units can further be <br />divided into units within subsidized multi -family rental projects and individual units subsidized <br />through vouchers. <br />o Subsidized Rental Projects <br />Countywide. the most visible affordable housing units are within subsidized. multi -family rental <br />projects. Most of these projects were constructed within the last few years and were subsidized from <br />one or more of the following programs. <br />EiMm <br />• Farmers Home Administration <br />• Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) <br />• State Bond Program <br />Totaling 1.456 units (60 of which are single-family), these projects are located throughout the <br />county.
