move on with the remediation. <br />In response to Commissioner Macht's inquiry for a funding source for the Humane <br />Society's request, Assistant Administrator Baird advised that if the Board considered this a <br />priority, and wanted to give an additional $200,000, it would be his recommendation to take <br />an additional $120,000 from contingencies and $80,000 from interest income. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Macht, to take an additional $120,000 from <br />the contingency fund, and $80,000 from interest income, and <br />grant the Humane Society's request for an additional $200,000. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Macht wanted to be certain that staff would be <br />reporting soon on projected overruns for other projects and the cost to establish a south <br />county library. <br />Chairman Ginn thought funding will be needed for projects other than the library, <br />such as the gun range and North County Park pool overruns. <br />Assistant Administrator Baird interjected that funding for those projects seemed to be <br />covered. He concurred that there are other projects and other commitments, such as the <br />Gifford Progressive League's shortfall. There could also be road projects that might require <br />additional appropriations.
