Our LAAC Guide also requires that appraisals be kept confidential. Because <br />of the fact that $15,000,000 is the target price there is not a lot to be gained by keeping the <br />appraisals confidential. He suggested that the Board proceed to preacquire the property and <br />make the appraisals public. <br />Discussion ensued about the advantages and disadvantages of making the appraisals <br />public, and Commissioner Macht felt the appraisals should not be made public. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Macht, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, that the Board <br />go forward with the preacquisition process and keep <br />the appraisals confidential for the present time. <br />Commissioner Ginn wanted more information regarding having The Trust For Public <br />Lands purchase the property. <br />Frank Coffey, 5015 Fairways Circle, felt there had been enough confidentiality on <br />this subject and that the taxpayers have a right to know what the appraisals say. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and <br />the Motion passed by a 4-1 vote (Commissioner <br />Tippin opposed) to direct staff to proceed with the <br />pre-acquisition of the property to be followed by <br />reimbursement from Florida Community Trust <br />FEBRUARY 5, 2002 <br />
