The average connection charges being funded by the FDEP for residences where wells have been <br />tested positive for contamination are as follows: <br />Impact Fee $ 1,300.00 <br />Line Extension Fee (Average per lot, inclusive of tap) <br />(182.80 feet @ $14.29 per foot) $ 2,612.21 <br />Meter Installation Fee $ 130.00 <br />Inspection Fee $ 25.00 <br />Total $ 4,067.21 <br />Each resident will be required to pay a $50 deposit. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners authorize construction of the subject water distribution system begin connecting <br />the residences which test positive for contamination to the County water system and authorize <br />collecting funds from the FDEP under the Florida Water Supply Restoration Program, as <br />presented. <br />Attachment A: Letters from the Health Department indicating findings and requested action. <br />Attachment B: Sketch of Proposed Improvements <br />Attachment C: Engineer's Cost Estimate <br />ACCOUNT Ii\ -FORMATION: <br />NAME: 47th — 49th Avenue Water Main Extension north of 41 s` Street <br />(Capital Improvements Fund) AMOUNT $88,652.39 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously (4-0, Vice <br />Chairman Tippin away from the table) authorized construction <br />of the subject water distribution system, to begin connecting the <br />residences which test positive for contamination to the County's <br />water system, and authorized the collection of funds from the <br />FDEP under the Florida Water Supply Restoration Program, as <br />presented and recommended in the memorandum. <br />March 5, 2002 <br />
