BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />REOUEST TO USE HOLMAN STADIUM - SPRING 200= <br />Administrator Chandler reviewed the request of the Boys & Girls Club as it appeared <br />in the backup. He explained they want to present a country music event at (Dodgers) <br />Holman Stadium with proceeds to go to the Bays & Girls Clubs programs. Their use would <br />be specifically for a fund raiser and he was concerned it would set a precedent. He asked <br />the Commissioners if they wanted to allow use of the Stadium for this fund raiser and <br />whether thev wanted to set down some kind of policy as to the use of the Stadium.. lie <br />pointed out that there are many other organizations in the county that would want to use the <br />facility and the Board needed to give staff guidance. <br />Commissioner Adams thought this request was appropriate but believed the Board <br />needs to set a policy. She mentioned the Treasure Coast Sports Commission also will <br />schedule events at the Dodger facilities. <br />Administrator Chandler specified that the TCSC has 12 of the 20 days, so the County <br />needs to decide on the remaining 8. <br />Chairman Macht suggested that the purpose to be served should be considered. Also, <br />a determination of whether it provides a service for the community which in this instance <br />it does. Also, is there a public benefit.
