• <br /> It is requested that the data herein presented be _=iyen formal consideration by the Board of Countv <br /> Commissioners at its regular meeting of June 12 . 2001 . <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> This is a request to rezone t10 . 2 acres located along the western shore of the Indian River Lagoon . <br /> More specifically , the site . depicted in Figure 1 , is located approximately a quarter [Wile east of US <br /> I and = 180 feet north of 97" Lane . The request involves rezoning the property from RS - 1 . Single - <br /> Family Residential District ( up to 1 unit acre ) , to RM - 6 . Multiple - Family Residential District yup <br /> to 6 units/acre ) . The purpose of this request is to secure the necessary zoning to develop the site with <br /> multiple - family uses at a density that is consistent with the site ' s comprehensive plan land use <br /> designation . <br /> On May 10. 2001 . the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5 to 1 to recommend that the Board <br /> of County Commissioners rezone the subject property from RS - 1 to RM - 6 . <br /> Existing Land Use Pattern <br /> The ± 10 . 2 acre subject property and land to the north are zoned RS - 1 . Land to the south and west <br /> are zoned RM - 6 . Dense vegetation exists throughout most of the subject property and surrounding <br /> properties .
