There was a request from the audience to speak since the motion was not as staff had
recommended .
Chairman Ginn concluded it was the CONSENSUS of the Board to allow that person
to comment and re - opened the public hearing .
John Blum , an engineer with Carter Associates , advised that a development plan has
been submitted for approval . He stated that the RM - 6 zoning is compatible with the
surrounding zoning and allows for clustering which gives more opportunity to avoid impact
on the environmental areas . For that reason , the RM- 6 zoning has been requested .
In response to Commissioner Macht ' s inquiry , Director Keating advised that Mr .
Blum ' s statement was correct , it would avoid impacting the surrounding environment and
give more open space .
It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the
public hearing .
Commissioner Macht WITHDREW HIS EARLIER MOTION .
ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY
Commissioner Tippin , the Board unanimously adopted
Ordinance No . 2001 - 014 amending the Zoning Ordinance and
the Accompanying Zoning Map for ± 10 . 2 acres , located a
quarter mile east of US 1 and ± 180 feet north of 97 `h Lane , from
RS - 1 .
