Attachments <br />Resolution <br />Notice of TEFRA Hearing <br />Interlocal Agreement <br />Commissioner Ginn spoke in opposition to the proposed location on Indian River <br />Boulevard for "low income housing". She felt it belongs out west where the jobs are. She <br />was concerned also about the amount of work that County staff has to do on this project. <br />Assistant Administrator Baird responded that staffs work was simply to bring the <br />resolution and companion documents to the Board. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter. <br />It seemed to Brian Heady, Vero Beach, that what the county needs are "living wage" <br />jobs, not more low income housing. The taxpayers pay for the tax breaks given to the <br />developers who provide low income housing for the people with the low income jobs the <br />County Commission has promoted. He suggested the Commission should start by paying <br />their employees a living wage. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the <br />public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED FOR DISCUSSION by Commissioner Ginn, to <br />approve staffs recommendation. <br />June 4, 2002 <br />56 <br />pv <br />;4 <br />
