<br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS
<br /> Staff is following guidelines from the Florida Department of Transportatigram
<br /> on Local Agency Pro
<br /> for funding of Enhancement Projects . Staff has obtained a chance for $ 110, 000. 00 of increased
<br /> funding for the Roseland Road Sidewalk Project, and $ 105 , 000 of increased funding for the Jungle
<br /> Trail/Pelican Island Project from a previous Enhancement Project (Gifford Sidewalk) which was
<br /> determined to be not feasible. The elimination of the Gifford Sidewalk Project was approved by the
<br /> Metropolitan Planning Organization on March 15 , 2001 .
<br /> Our current approved funding for the Roseland Road Sidewalk Project is $252,000. If approved, the
<br /> new total will be $362 ,000. For the Jungle Trail/Pelican Island Project our current approved funding
<br /> is $ 700, 000. If approved, the new total will be $ 805 ,000 .

<br /> In October 1999 the Florida Department of Transportation and Indian River County entered into an
<br /> agreement for $229,000. 00 funding to be provided by the Florida Department of Transportation to
<br /> Indian River County for reimbursement after the County constructs the Roseland Road sidewalk .
<br /> In January 2001 , the Florida Department of Transportation and Indian River County executed a
<br /> ~ ; Supplemental Agreement for an additional $23 , 000 . 00 in funding which brought the total to
<br /> $252,000. 00. In February 2001 , staff discovered a proposed sidewalk project along U. S . Highway
<br /> # 1 from 37” Street o 45 ” Street was not feasible by the Florida Department of Transportation
<br /> Standards. The Florida Department of Transportation terminated the $215,000. 00 agreement for the
<br /> Gifford Sidewalk. Florida Department of Transportation has reallocated funds as follows :
<br /> 1 . A proposed increase of $ 110, 000 . 00 to the Roseland Sidewalk Project
<br /> 2 . A proposed increase of $ 105 , 000. 00 to the Jungle Trail Project
<br /> The attached letters dated May 15 , 2001 from Gary Keife explains the Florida Department of
<br /> Transportation can supply an additional $ 110, 000. 00 for Roseland Road Sidewalk Project and
<br /> $ 105 ,000 for the Jungle Trail/Pelican Island Project. In order to confirm this additional funding the
<br /> County must submit the supplemental agreement to the Florida Department of Transportation .

<br /> Staff recommends the Board authorize the Chairman sign the supplemental agreements .
<br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge ,
<br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Adams , the Board
<br /> unanimously approved the Supplemental Agreements
<br /> for the Roseland Road Sidewalk Project and for the
<br /> Jungle Trail/Pelican Island Project and authorized
<br /> the Chairman to execute same , as recommended by
<br /> staff.
