<br /> DESCRIPEDN AND CONDITIONS
<br /> In 1997 the City of Sebastian applied for a Florida Recreation Development Assistant Program
<br /> (FRDAP) Grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP ) . Former
<br /> Sebastian City Engineer, Martha Campbell, prepared a total construction cost estimate of
<br /> $ 105 , 000 . 00. The proposed site was along Stone Crop Street (within the City of Sebastian) . In early 1 "
<br /> 1998 the County was preparing to purchase a tract of land from Henry Fischer, North of County
<br /> Road 512 . The County took over responsibility for the project. In July 1998 , the County executed
<br /> the agreement with FDEP to reimburse the County $ 105 , 000 . 00 (non-matching) for construction
<br /> costs . Since that time, the County Engineering Division has prepared construction plans , contractell
<br /> documents and specifications for the Sebastian Canoe Launch .
<br /> Bid Opening Date : May 9 , 2001
<br /> Advertisement Dates : April 18 and 25 , 2001 i
<br /> Bids Received : One ( 1 )
<br /> Summit Construction Management, Inc . submitted the only bid in the amount of $ 194, 128 . 55 . Staff
<br /> is of the opinion that the bid is reasonable.

<br /> Alternative No . t - Award the bid in the amount of $ 194 , 128 . 55 to Summit Construction
<br /> Management, Inc . The only County funds available in the amount of $ 89, 128 . 55 would be from
<br /> Florida Boating Improvement Fund 133 -210- 572 - 068 . 05 .
<br /> Altemative No The Board could decide to reject the bid and direct staff to re-bid the project to
