YEAR 1953 <br />STATE OF FLORIDA COUNTY RESOLUTION ON USE OF 80% <br />SEVENTH CENT GAS TAX AND OTHER SECONDARY ROAD FUND <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER <br />WHEREAS, under Chapter 26,321 of the Extraordinary Session of 1949, known as <br />the "Secondary Roads Assistance Act of 1949", the State Road Department will receive 80% of the <br />proceeds of this County's prorata share of the Seventh Cent Gasoline Tax, to be used ex - <br />elusively by the said department within this County, as directed by Resolution of this Board <br />of County Commissioners, for one or more of the following purposes: Construction, recon- <br />struction, maintenance and repair of State roads and bridges, the lease or purchase of bridges. <br />connecting State roads, the acquisition of rights of wap for State roads, and the reduction <br />of road and bridge indebtedness; and, <br />WHEREAS,.the State Road Department has requested this County Board to desig- <br />nate also the purpose for which, and the roads on which, this County's 80% surplus gas tax <br />and Federal Aid Secondary allocations should be spent for construction and improvement; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department is required by law to adopt an annual <br />budget of maintenance and construction work designed to use all except ten percent of its <br />anticipated income during the year, which budget must be set up in January and adopted <br />in February of each year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department cannot prepare and adopt a budget until it has <br />ascertained and determined the desire of the Board of County Commissioners in the form of a <br />Resolution, as to how this County's Secondary Road funds should be used; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the State Road Department of Florida is hereby requested <br />and directed to use such funds on the following projects in the order of their designation <br />as follows, to -wit: <br />1. <br />LATERAL "B" (KING'S HIGHWAY) ROAD <br />From the,Oslo, Road North on Lateral "B" (King's Highway) <br />Road to State Road No. 508 a distance of approximately <br />9 miles. <br />2. <br />SOUTH GIFFORD ROAD <br />From S R D No. 505 at Northwest Corner of Southwest <br />Quarter of Section 29 East to State Road No. 5 a <br />distance of approximately 3.3 miles <br />STATE ROAD RTO_. <br />From South County Line at Southwest Corner Section <br />35, Township 33 South, Range 39 East, North to State <br />Road No. 60, a distance of approximately 5.5 miles. <br />4. <br />SOUTH WINTER BEACH ROAD <br />From S R D No. 505 at Northwest corner of Southwest <br />quarter of Section 81'Towaship 32 South, Range 39 East, <br />East to State Road No. 5 a distance of approximately <br />2.6 miles. <br />5. <br />GLENDALE BOULEVARD <br />From Lateral "B" Road at the -Southwest Corner of <br />Section'99 Towns#IP 33 South, Range 39 East, to State <br />Road No. 5 a distance of approximately 3.8 miles. <br />11 <br />1 <br />L <br />n <br />U <br />1 <br />1] <br />1 <br />F�l <br />• <br />
