I LGA CITY OF VERO BEACH 21ST STREET ("MIRACLE <br />MILE") ROADWAY WIDENING IMPROVEMENTS - DISTRICT 5 <br />TRAFFIC IMPACT FEES <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of July 18, 2001: <br />TO: James E. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: City of Vero Beach 21"treet (Miracle Mile) Roadway Widening <br />Improvements <br />REF. LETTER: Clifford J. Suthard, COVB, to James Davis, IRC, dated <br />July 12, 2001 <br />DATE: July 18, 2001 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Bids were received by the City of Vero Beach on July 3, 2001, for 4 -lane <br />widening improvements to 21" Street from just east of US 1 to Indian <br />River Blvd. The FDOT has committed to fund $1,560,000 from Congestion <br />Management System Funds. The low bid for the project is $1,954,447.78. <br />The City is requesting a Traffic Impact Fee District 5 allocation of <br />$395,000 to fund the remainder. The "Three Avenues" project at the SW <br />corner of 21" Street and Indian River Blvd. paid $219,000 in Traffic <br />Impact fees in this area. Other recent development in the area has also <br />contributed. In 1999, this request was supported by County staff subject <br />to Board approval. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the City <br />$395,000 in District 5 (old TIF District <br />established) Traffic Impact fee funds <br />balance of the fund as of July 18, 2001 <br />Referenced letter <br />of Vero Beach's request for <br />5 prior to new districts being <br />for the subject project. The <br />is $2,045,152. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved the <br />request of the City of Vero Beach for $395,000 in District 5 <br />Traffic Impact Fee funds for the widening improvements, as <br />recommended in the memorandum. <br />July 24, 2001 <br />44 C <br />
