• <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends awarding this bid as follows: <br />• Award the annual contract to Sonitrol of Florida East Coast as the lowest most responsive <br />and responsible bidder meeting the specifications as set forth in the Invitation to Bid. <br />• Establish an Open End Contract for the period October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003 <br />with recommended vendor. Year to date expenditures total $9,685.00 based on a monthly <br />expense of $753 00 on eleven (11) County buildings. Repairs and/or service calls under this <br />contract have totaled approximately $1,300.00 year to date. This new contract with Sonitrol <br />of Florida East Coast reflects a 19% savings over current year prices <br />• Authorize the Purchasing Manager to renew this contract for two (2) additional one (1) year <br />periods subject to satisfactory performance, zero cost increase, vendor acceptance and the <br />determination that renewal of this annual contract is in the best interest of the County. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously awarded Bid #5012 <br />to Sonitrol of Florida East Coast under the terms set forth in staff's <br />Memorandum, as recommended by staff. <br />BID DOCUMENTS WILL BE ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />WHEN EXECUTED AND RECEIVED <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2002 15 <br />t 4 <br />
