EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT - INVITATION FROM JOHN'S ISLAND <br />GOLF CLUB FOR STAFF TO PARTICIPATE INA "PUBLIC SAFETY DAY" GOLF <br />OUTING <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of September 4, 2002: <br />TO: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: James E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: John King, Director �l <br />Department of Emer'genc Services <br />DATE: September 4, 2002 <br />SUBJECT: Invitation from John's Island Golf Club for Staff to Participate in a "Public <br />Safety Day" Golf Outing -- <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regular meeting of <br />September 10, 2002. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Since 1990 (except for 1999), John's Island Club has sponsored a "Public Safety Day" golf <br />outing at one of the three courses operated by John's Island The inaugural tournament <br />was proposed as an expression of appreciation for the assistance in suppressing a fire at <br />the John's Island West Clubhouse. Since the inaugural tournament, the invitations have <br />been extended to include all county and municipal public safety agencies, which include <br />paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement officers dispatchers, and administrative staff. <br />A letter has been received from John's Island Club General Manager Brian Kroh inviting <br />all Emergency Services staff to attend and participate in the annual "Public Safety Day" <br />event. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2002 <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2002 21 <br />• <br />
