The local share of the service development funds will be provided by the Council on Aging from <br />previously identified COA funds. <br />ANALYSIS <br />As with the FTA Section 5307 grant program, only public agencies may be designated recipients of <br />state Service Development funds, although a nonprofit provider may receive such funds through a <br />designated recipient Under these restrictions, the COA has requested that the Board of County <br />Commissioners apply for state Service Development funds on its behalf. <br />The attached resolution (Attachment 2) authorizes the Chairman to execute the JPA for Service <br />Development funds. Upon the Board's adoption of the resolution and the Chairman's execution of <br />the JPA, County staff will transmit the JPA to FDOT. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached Public <br />Transportation Joint Participation Agreement and adopt the attached resolution authorizing the <br />Chait,uan to sign the agreement. Staff further recommends that the Board of County Commissioners <br />authorize staff to proceed with the application process for state Service Development Program funds. <br />ATTA CHMENTS <br />1.
