• • <br />Chairman Stanbridge asked if this is a weighted procedure, and Director Davis <br />explained that the County publishes a request for letters of interest and qualifications. The <br />firms send in their letters of interest and qualifications and a selection committee looks at all <br />the submissions. In this instance, only two local firms submitted letters and both were <br />selected. Of the three selected, Lawson, Noble, and Webb was the only out -of -county firm. <br />Commissioner Macht asked if there are other local firms who do this work, and <br />Commissioner Adams replied that the Utilities Department uses several. She thought perhaps <br />other local firms do not respond because they think they cannot get the County's work. <br />11.G.6. Skok, Civil Engineer s _f <br />SUBJECT: Local Agency Agreement for the Indian River Drive Bilcepath <br />DATE: August 16, 2002 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Staff is following guidelines for the comprehensive bike and sidewalk plan in which constructing an <br />eight foot (8') wide concrete bikepath along Indian River Drive between the south Sebastian City <br />Limit and Highway US #1 is planned. This project ranks high on the list and would connect the <br />existing bikepath within Sebastian and the residential area south. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Indian River County has adopted a Comprehensive Bikeway and Sidewalk Plan which identifies <br />roadways where bicycle and sidewalk facilities should be provided within the County.
