Jason E Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />D ate: August 23, 2002 <br />S ubject: Miscellaneous <br />Budget Amendment 017 <br />D escription and Conditions <br />The attached budget amendment appropriates funding necessary for the following: <br />1. On August 20, 2002, the Board of Commissioners approved a $1,000 contribution to the <br />Florida Missing Children's Day Ceremonies from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding from this source. <br />2. On June 18, 2002, the Board of Commissioners approved a grant agreement with the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for a Shelter Plus Care program. <br />The attached entry appropnates funding. <br />3. The North County Library has received donations totaling $12,595. The attached entry <br />appropriates these revenues. <br />4. On August 20, 2002, the Board of Commissioners approved a settlement proposal with the <br />IAFF Local 2201 for outstanding matters in arbitration. The attached entry appropriates <br />funding of $30,000 from Emergency Services District contingencies. <br />5. On September 18, 2001, the Board of Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement with <br />the City of Sebastian for a boat ramp on Schumann Lake. This agreement provided for a <br />County contribution of $7,800 from the Florida Boating Improvement Fund. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding as outlined in the agreement. <br />6. The State of Florida has increased the local responsibility for Medicaid payments for inpatient <br />hospital services. As a result, Medicaid costs are exceeding the approved budget. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding from General Fund cash forward. <br />7. Legal advertising costs are exceeding the amount budgeted in the Purchasing Department. <br />This is due to a large amount of projects going out for bid in the current year. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding from General Fund contingencies. <br />8. The Office of Management & Budget underestimated sick incentive costs in various <br />departments. The attached entry appropriates funding. <br />9. Design and construction of a sporting clays course at the Shooting Range is currently <br />underway. Funding is available from the Shooting Range Construction Fund cash forward. <br />10. The Florida Department of Labor has invoiced the County for unemployment compensation <br />claims in several departments.
