ON MOTION by Commissioner Solari, SECONDED by Chairman <br />Flescher, the Board unanimously approved to intervene in the three <br />pending administrative cases (2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012), <br />thereby preserving our County's right to have their actual costs <br />recalculated, as recommended in the memorandum of October 15, <br />2013. <br />14. Non Ad Valorem Assessments for Code Enforcement <br />Abatement Actions <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner O'Bryan, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Solari, to direct the County Attorney to research <br />and bring back to the Board a report on the feasibility of using a <br />non -ad valorem special assessment for code enforcement <br />abatement actions. <br />Following the motion, there was a lengthy discussion regarding the processing of liens, <br />tax deed sales, and non -ad valorem assessments. <br />Vice Chairman Davis cautioned the Board about making policy based on extreme <br />conditions that would be permanent going forward. <br />October 22, 2013 18 <br />BK 144 PG 497 <br />
