B. INITIAL TWO-YEAR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AND WATERING PERIOD: <br />Beginning on the date of final acceptance of all landscaping by the OWNER1, <br />maintain all the new landscape plantings and temporary irngation facilities for a <br />period of two years During this initial two-year maintenance period, guarantee the <br />following: <br />1) All landscape items shall be under full (100%) warranty coverage during the <br />Initial First Two -Year Warranty Period. During this time, the CONTRACTOR <br />shall guarantee that one hundred (100) percent of the planted individuals <br />become established and show signs of normal growth, excluding acts of God <br />and extreme weather events or unforeseeable events out of the <br />CONTRACTOR's control. The County realizes that some of the initial <br />plantings installed during winter months (slow growing period) could be <br />unusually susceptible to cold weather damage and will likely show slow <br />growth during this period. Normal growth periods should be realized by May. <br />2) Replacement Plantings - All replacement plantings shall be Florida #1 <br />specimens and they shall be installed and maintained as recommended by <br />the supplier nursery and specified herein. Coordinate any replanting with <br />County personnel. <br />B. THREE-YEAR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PERIOD* Following the initial two- <br />year landscape maintenance period, all landscape will be maintained so that at the <br />end of the 5 -year period, which begins at the date of final acceptance of plant <br />installation by OWNER, at least 80% planted material and 80% cover by <br />appropriate plant species will be obtained. <br />C. As a minimum, perform maintenance monthly. Take special care to not disturb <br />birds, nests, or other wildlife. <br />3.7 TEMPORARY IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR MAINTAINING LANDSCAPE <br />WARRRANTIES* <br />A. Design, furnish, install, and maintain a temporary irrigation system or provide other <br />means to adequately water and maintain all landscape items/planting areas during <br />the above warranty periods. Contractor may use any site ponds and wells for water <br />source and electrical source as may be shown on the electrical plans and as <br />approved by the ENGINEER. Temporary facilities shall not conflict with the facility's <br />operations and maintenance requirements.
