Chairman Flescher clarified for Mr. Johnson that the proposed ordinance would apply to <br /> all businesses, not specifically to McDonalds . <br /> There being no additional speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br /> Commissioner O ' Bryan observed that the Board wants to maintain a good quality of life <br /> for County residents, while being fair to businesses . He voiced support for staff' s <br /> recommendation as a good compromise and a common sense solution to redevelopment. <br /> Vice Chairman Davis was in favor of making a small concession to business owners <br /> during these hard times, and would rather see them spend their money on more employees than <br /> on complying with a bureaucratic requirement. <br /> Commissioner Zorc pointed out that the exterior enhancements made by the subject <br /> McDonalds have added greatly to the corridor aesthetics . <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, <br /> SECONDED by Vice Chairman Davis, to approve staff' s <br /> recommendation. <br /> Chairman Flescher remarked that the proposed Ordinance allows the County' s businesses <br /> to continue operations and make renovations without the added expense of removing existing <br /> signs . <br /> The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION , and the <br /> Motion carried unanimously.
