5. In order to provide funds to the Indian River County Public Health Unit, it <br />• is determined and hereby declared that a tax rate of One-half (1/2) mill upon the dollar be <br />levied, assessed and is hereby imposed upon all the property lying and being in the County of <br />Indian River, the proceeds of which when collected shall be paid to the State Treasurer of <br />the State of Florida for the account of the State Board of Health of the State of Florida to <br />be expended by said State Board of Health as provided by Chapter 154, Florida Statutes. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Tax Assessor of Indian River County, Florida, <br />be and he is hereby di -rested to assess and levy all of the foregoing taxes as fixed and levied <br />by this Board upon the taxable property in Indian River County, Florida, just and due taxation, <br />and the Tax Collector of Indian River'County, Florida, be and he is hereby directed to collect <br />said taxes and pay over the same to this Board and that a certified copy of this Resolution <br />be furnished to the County Assessor of Taxes and the County Collector of Taxes. <br />Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Watts, the same was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />RESOLUTION -- Agreement with State Road Department <br />On motion of Commissioner Watts, seconded ,by Commissioner Warren, the following <br />:R.esolution.was unanimously adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that the reconstruc- <br />tion of a certain road within Indian River County, Florida, is desirable, said road being de- <br />signated <br />as <br />Section <br />8801-691, State Road No. <br />5, extending from the South City Limits of the <br />City of <br />Vero <br />Beach <br />to the South County Line; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, The State Road Department of Florida will not approve the reconstruc- <br />tion of said road until title to all land necessary for said road has been conveyed to or <br />vested in the -State of Florida by the County and said lands have been physically cleared of <br />all occupants, tenants, buildings and other improvements which may be situated upon or en- <br />croaching within the limits of the lands required for said road; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon the County of Indian River to acquire the rights <br />of way for said road, remove buildings and improvements therefrom and assume the costs and <br />. expenses of surrendering title to said rights of way to the State Road Department, at the <br />expense of the County of Indian River; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Indian River does not possess the financial ability to <br />Florida be and it is hereby requested to advance to Indian giver County from any available <br />State Road funds such monies as may be necessary for the purpose.of acquiring the rights -of <br />way for said State Road, including the removal of property, and other costs and expenses of <br />surrendering title to said rights of way and the Board of County Commissioners does hereby <br />covenant and agree that all funds accruing to the Department for expenditure in Indian River <br />. County under the provisions of Sectiom 16, Article IX of the Constitution of Florida, Chapter <br />26,321, Laws of Florida, :acts the Extraordinary Session of 1949, or any similar law; shall be <br />used by the Department to reimburse itself in full for all monies so advance, said Department <br />being hereby fully empowered and authorized to apply such funds as and when same are remitted <br />provide the funds necessary for <br />necessary,to deliver the various <br />acquiring the <br />rights of way <br />said rights of way and doing all other things <br />to the State Road Department; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by <br />the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, at its regular meeting <br />held on August <br />4, 1953, that the State Road Department of <br />Florida be and it is hereby requested to advance to Indian giver County from any available <br />State Road funds such monies as may be necessary for the purpose.of acquiring the rights -of <br />way for said State Road, including the removal of property, and other costs and expenses of <br />surrendering title to said rights of way and the Board of County Commissioners does hereby <br />covenant and agree that all funds accruing to the Department for expenditure in Indian River <br />.
