WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1953 <br />is <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the <br />Court House in regular adjourned meeting at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Wednesday, August 12, 1953, <br />with the following members present: Aubrey L. iIaddell, Vice Chairman; J. J. P. Hamilton; <br />H. C. Watts and .Allison Warren. Absent: W. C. Graves, Chairman. Also present were Sherman <br />N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff; <br />and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />Attorney, Sherman N. Smith, Jr. was instructed to send Virgil Smoak notice to <br />pay �up the rent in full on the Porhorsky dwelling or to vacate within three days. <br />E. E. Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent was requested to look into the <br />matter of a witness room for the Sheriff's office. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren and carried, <br />Aubrey L. Waddell, Vice Chairman and Douglas Baker, Clerk were authorized to sign the agree- <br />ment with Fries and Sons on jail equipment. <br />to -wit: <br />0 <br />RESOLUTION -- School Levy <br />Commissioner Hamilton introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption <br />WHEREAS, all acts having been performed and all proceedings had as required by <br />law preliminary to the levy of taxes in Indian River County, Florida, for the year 1953; and, <br />WHEREAS, the respective Boards and taxing districts being authorized to fix <br />and levy taxes upon property situated within Indian River County, Florida, as provided by law, <br />fixed such tax levies and have certified the same to the Board of County Commissioners and <br />this Board having accepted the same and having found them to be proper; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that: <br />1. Estimates having been made by the Board of Commissioners ofN,�,D AN RIVER <br />MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT, and a certified copy of the Resolution filed with this Board, as <br />required by law, and as estimated by the Board of Commissioners, it is determined and hereby <br />declared that a tax rate of Six and five -tenths (6.5) mills upon the dollar be levied, and <br />is hereby fixed and assessed for the year 1953, on all of the property taxable for such pur- <br />pose as provided by law in the County of Indian River, lying and being within the boundaries <br />of said Indian River Mosquito Control District, the boundaries of said District being de- <br />scribed as follows, to -wit: All of that territory in Indian River County, Florida, included <br />the boundaries described follows, to Begin a where the South Boundary <br />within as -wit: at point <br />line of Indian River County, Florida, intersects the Atlantic Ocean; thence run West along the <br />South boundary line of Indian River County, Florida, to the Southwest corner of Section 31, <br />i <br />Township 33 South, Range 36 East; thence run North along the range line dividing Range 35 <br />East and Range 36 East to the Northwest corner of Section 6, Township 33 South, Range 36 East,' <br />and which corner is on the boundary line dividing Township 32 South and Township 33 South; <br />thence run East on the boundary line dividing Township 33 South and Township 32 South to the <br />Southwest corner of Section 36, Township 32 South, Range 38 Fast; thence run North to the <br />Northwest corner of Section 36, Township 31 South, Range 38 East; thence run West to the <br />Southwest corner of Section 26, Township 31 South, Range 38 East; thence run North to the <br />Northwest corner of Section 23, Township 31 South, Range 38 East; thence run West to the <br />Fleming Grant line and the Southwest corner of Government Lot 3, Section 15, Township 31 South, <br />
