<br />Table 22 shows the number of resident live births in Indian River County and Florida for 2013. The rate
<br />per 1,000 individuals was considerably lower in Indian River (8.6 per 1,000) than in Florida (11.2 per
<br />1,000).

<br />Births by Mother's Education
<br />Table 23 shows the number and percentage of births to mothers with less than a high school education
<br />in Florida and Indian River County in 2011, 2012, and 2013. The percentage of births to mothers who
<br />had less than a high school education decreased in both Indian River and Florida, between 2011 and
<br />2013; however, the percentage in Indian River (15.9%) still remains higher than the state's (14.3%).
