PUBLIC NOTICE ITEMS <br /> 10 C. 1 NOTICE OF SCHED ULED PUBLIC HEARING FOR MARCH 22, <br /> 2011 : CONSIDER ADOPTION OFAN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 205 <br /> OF THE CODE OF INDL4N RIVER COUNTY TO PERMIT THE CARRYING OR <br /> POSSESSION OF CONCEALED WEAPONS OR FIREARMS IN PARKS AND <br /> RECREATIONAL AREAS INACCORDANCE WITH FLORIDA STATUTES <br /> (LEGISLATIVE) <br /> County Attorney Alan Polackwich, Sr. read the notice into the record. <br /> 11 . COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR MATTERS <br /> H .A. RENEWAL OFEMPLOYMENTAGREEMENT <br /> County Administrator Joseph Baird reviewed the details of his new proposed three-year <br /> Employment Agreement (contract) as outlined on pages 89 through 92 of the Agenda Packet . <br /> His current contract expires on March 22 , 2011 , and his new contract would be in effect through <br /> March 22 , 2014 , <br /> The Commissioners echoed praise for Administrator Baird ' s job performance ; however, <br /> they voiced objections and concerns over the following provisions : ( 1 ) the three-year term of the <br /> contract; (2) the accumulation of sick leave and vacation time ; and (3 ) certain specifics within <br /> the severance package . The Board also compared his proposed contract to his current contract <br /> and the contract of the County Attorney . <br /> Administrator Baird responded to the Commissioners ' concerns, noted his <br /> accomplishments , and pointed out the difficult decisions he has recently had to make . <br /> March 15 , 2011 10 <br />
