BE IT FURTHER RESULVED, That the State Road Department is to repay itself in full for funds <br />so advanced by reimbursing itself from funds received by it for expenditure in Indian Riser <br />• County under provisions of Section 16, Article IX Constitution of the State of Florida and <br />Chapter 26321 Laws of Florida, Extraordinary Session 1949, as provided in supplemental agree- <br />ment attached hereto. <br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and <br />carried, the Board authorized Charles Jewett Appraisal Service to make an appraisal on each <br />parcel of land on the !sight of Clay of U. S. 1 South of Vero Beach to the South County line. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />carried that Sherman N. Smith, Jr. should be advanced $2,000.00 toward the expense of right of <br />way matters. <br />The Board members=together with Sherman�N.:Smith,_Jr...and E. E. Carter then <br />went on a trip from the North City Limits of Vero Beach along U. S. 1 to the North County <br />line at Sebastian River following the old and the proposed new right of sway for U. S. 1. <br />There being no further business, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Board then adjourned. <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk <br />Chairma <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1. 1953 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the <br />Court house in regular meeting at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Tuesday, December 1, 1953, with the <br />• following members present: Commissioners 1,1. C. (raves, Jr., Chairman; Aubrey L. ;laddell, <br />J. J. P. Hamilton, h. C. Watts and Callison 'Marren. Also present were E. LE. Carter, Road C <br />Bridge Superintendent, Sherman N. ;smith, Jr., ,ttorney; L. B. u'Steen, Sheriff; and Douglas <br />Baker, Clerk. <br />Minutes of November 3rd regular meeting were read and approved on Motion of <br />Commissioner laddell, seconded by Commissioner ilatts and carried. <br />Alinutes of November 20th regular adjourned meeting were read and approved on <br />Alotion of Colimissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Watts and carried. <br />Mr. E. E. Carter reported on the Kjorswick road matter saying the survey was <br />made but the description had not yet been rendered. <br />1st- the request of Mrs. Ernestine Marquis, District supervisor, and P,,:iss Stcvens <br />local worker of the Child Welfare organization, on Motion of Cornnnissioner 11adde.11, seconded <br />by Commissioner Watts and carried, the Board appropriated an additional Six hundred ($600.00) <br />Dollars on a contingency basis of Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars per month. <br />;attorney Smith was requested to talk with Johnnie Jones and attorney, R. S. <br />Swing, regarding financial assistance for the Jones' children. <br />
