REQUEST TO PARTICIPATE IN THE "2012 GREENSERIES " AT <br /> INDIAN RIVER MALL <br /> Himanshu Mehta, Managing Director, Solid Waste Disposal District ( SWDD), reported <br /> that the 2012 Indian River Mall Green Series would offer three events hosted by the Indian River <br /> Mall in collaboration with Keep Indian River Beautiful (KIRB) . He announced that there will <br /> be a Rain Barrel Workshop on June 9 , 2012 ; a Green Thumb Clinic on July 14 , 2012 ; and the <br /> August 1 lth event will focus on children and the KIRB Reuse Center and recycling iniatives . <br /> Director Mehta relayed the details of the proposal from the Indian River Mall and KIRB for the <br /> SWDD to be the title sponsor for the Green Series, and presented staff' s recommendation for the <br /> Board to authorize participation as the sponsor . <br /> Vicki Wild , Executive Director, Keep Indian River Beautiful (KIRB) , explained that the <br /> focus of the 2012 Green Series is on education . <br /> Ursula Gunter, Marketing Director for Indian River Mall, relayed that some staff <br /> members of the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) will <br /> be conducting the Rain Barrel Workshops, and some 4 -H Club members will be assisting with <br /> the Green Thumb Clinic . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Solari, SECONDED by <br /> Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously <br /> authorized participation in the 2012 Green Series at the <br /> Indian River Mall with a sponsorship in the amount of <br /> $ 4 , 000 , as recommended in the memorandum of May 14 , <br /> 2012 . <br /> May 22 , 2012 42 PG 503 <br /> rr <br /> SWDD 2 <br />
