Pursuant to the foregoing Notice requesting bids for one - Y ton Pickup Truck <br />!i <br />and one - highway -type gasoline powered tractor mower with hydraulic lift and hydraulic driven' <br />li <br />seven foot cycle bar, the following bids were received: <br />Frank Jordan Ford (for pickup truck)-•- - - - $1,275.18 without spare tire. <br />Roland Miller Chevrolet Co. - - - - - - - - - $1,292.34 with spare tire. <br />After considerable discussion it was decided to award the bid to the Roland <br />Miller Chevrolet Co. for the sum of $1,292.34. <br />Bids were also received on the hydraulic tractor as advertised for. There were <br />four bids and Chairman Graves and E. E. Carter, Road & Bridge Superintendent were appointed a <br />committee to look at the tractors and study their specifications, and make report to the Board l <br />at the next regular meeting, at which time final decision would be made. <br />A notice was received from Sheriff L. B. O'Steen to cancel the appointment of <br />Curtis L4 Knight, Deputy Sheriff, as Mr. Knight was no longer a deputy sheriff and the same <br />ordered filed with the Clerk. <br />Notary Public Bond for Alex MacWillia m, Jr. in the sum of $500.00 with .American <br />Surety Company as surety was approved by Douglas Baker, Clerk, as provided.by lay. <br />Reports of receipts, expenses and net income for the twelve months ending <br />the 31st day of December, 1953, were filed with Douglas Baker, Clerk as required by law, by <br />the following officers: <br />L. Smith <br />Sheriff <br />Tax Assessor <br />Tax Collector <br />County Judge <br />Clerk Circuit Court <br />Judge, Small Claims Court <br />Prosecuting Attorney <br />A certified copy of Resolution duly adopted by the County Democratic Executive <br />Committee, setting out the Party assessments levied against the various candidates who parti- <br />cipate in the Democratic Primary election to be held Tuesday, May 4, 1954, was received and <br />carefully noted as follows: <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />that the Road and Bridge Department would resurface this road from the Town,,of Roseland to <br />U. S. 1 sometime in May. About the same time the Oslo road would be resurfaced and also the <br />Old Dixie Highway North and the Winter Beach Road to the Cemetery would also be resurfaced. <br />J. Pasco Woods, Judge, Small Claims Court, appeared before the Board asking for <br />reimbursement for rent and other incidental expenses. After consideration it was decided that <br />there could be no reimbursement, however, they did decide to appropriate him $40.00 a month <br />i' <br />beginning February 1st, 1954. <br />Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney, made a report on progress of right of way on <br />U. S. 1 South. The Board asked Dir.
