LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES <br /> Administrator Baird reported that staff has begun compiling a list of items to be brought <br /> '1 up at the 2012 State Legislative Session, as follows : <br /> CIA <br /> • Trim Notices — Separate the Constitutional Officers . <br /> • Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRA) — The County should receive a <br /> greater percentage of CRA Funds to assist in providing Government services . <br /> >i <br /> `, • Florida Retirement System (FRSE — The Legislature needs to look at maintaining <br /> the low rates in view of a proposed significant increase in July 2012 . <br /> • Florida Statutes Chapter 720 Homeowners Associations (HOA) — Strengthen the <br /> law governing Homeowners Associations to ensure proper maintenance of the <br /> common areas <br /> • Defined Contribution Plan for New Employees - Mandate a defined contribution <br /> plan for all new employees in the FRS retirement plan . <br /> Administrator Baird invited the Commissioners to keep him abreast of any additions to <br /> the list. He thereafter responded to concerns expressed by Commissioner Davis about the <br /> proposed increase in the FRS rates . <br /> `n Chairman Solari remarked on the State mandates that required many County departments <br /> to prepare and submit lengthy reports , and asked for ideas on eliminating or reducing those <br /> 5 <br /> 4 documents .
