CONDEMNATION9 DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL OF UNSAFE <br /> STRUCTURES <br /> Jose Guanch, Building Official, provided background conditions and analysis pertaining <br /> to two structures proposed for demolition, located at 9250 East Marsh Island Drive and 4855 34th <br /> Avenue, respectively . He recalled that the Marsh Island Homeowners Association had <br /> volunteered to pay 50 % of the demolition costs for the East Marsh Island Drive structure <br /> (approved at the June 21 , 2011 Board of County Commission meeting), and presented staff' s <br /> recommendation for demolition of both structures . <br /> A brief discussion ensued as Mr. Guanch, with input from Deputy County Attorney <br /> William DeBraal, provided further details on the East Marsh Island Drive property, which is <br /> currently in foreclosure . <br /> Attorney Polackwich explained why the County would be unlikely to recover the costs if <br /> a lien is recorded on the property. <br /> Mr. Guanch confirmed for the Commissioners that the demolition of the East Marsh <br /> Island Drive structure would include removal of the slab . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br /> Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br /> Resolution 2011 -057, providing for the demolition of <br /> unsafe structures and the recovery of costs . <br /> Shoquist, 9250 E.
