MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner O'Bryan, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Flescher, to approve staff's <br />recommendation. <br />Jason Redman, Sideline Radio Show, stated that he was not opposed to lacrosse, but <br />was concerned about tying up the multipurpose fields. He was worried about running out of <br />accessible space for football and other sports. <br />A brief discussion ensued about the possibility of the Vero Beach Sports Village making <br />free space available for local youth sports teams; and about the need to have a field available for <br />the youngsters to practice in. <br />Commissioner Solari suggested researching the use of the old Gifford Landfill site for <br />sports fields, and also invited the public to let the Commissioners know what is needed in terms <br />of playing fields. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and the <br />Motion carried unanimously. The Board: (1) approved <br />Resolution 2013-077, approving a community interest <br />lease agreement with the Indian River Lacrosse <br />Association, Inc. for County owned property at Dick Bird <br />Park (a/k/a South County Park); and (2) approved and <br />authorized the Chairman to execute the Lease Agreement <br />with Indian River Lacrosse Association, Inc , as <br />recommended in the memorandum of August 1, 2013. <br />AMENDMENT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />August 20, 2013 23 <br />BK 144 PG 201 <br />
