14.A.1. DISCUSSIONREGARDING INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FERTILIZER <br />ORDINANCE <br />Chairman Flescher requested fellow Commissioners to review the Indian River County <br />Fertilizer Ordinance's impact and how it relates to existing ordinances that have been passed in <br />other municipalities within the County. He wanted to encourage municipalities to revisit their <br />ordinances and show the fertilizer distributors that Indian River County and all the municipalities <br />are on board for recovering the Lagoon. He asked for Board approval to send the draft letter on <br />page 305 of the Agenda Packet to all the municipalities who have moved forward with an <br />ordinance. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Flescher, to send the <br />Chairman's letter, a copy of Ordinance 2013-012, and <br />bullet points of the fertilizer requirements in English and <br />in Spanish, to all Council Members of municipalities <br />within the County. <br />There was a brief discussion regarding a change to the letter, whereby the Ordinance will <br />be applicable to only the unincorporated areas of the County. <br />MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Solari, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Flescher, to modify the letter <br />to read that the County's Ordinance is only applicable in <br />the unincorporated areas of Indian River County. <br />Attorney Reingold confirmed the motion.
