Finish rolling should be <br /> accomplished by use of the steel wheel roller. <br /> K. Should any irregularities or defects remain in any course after compaction, <br /> they should be removed promptly and replaced with new material to provide a <br /> uniform texture surface conforming to line and grade . The finished surface shall <br /> ' be such that it .will not vary more than one forth inch ( 1 /4 " ) from the ten foot <br /> ( 10') straight edge applied both parallel and perpendicular to the center line of <br /> the pavement. The thickness of the pavement shall be no more than one forth <br /> ' inch ( 1 /4 " ) greater or less than the specified thickness . Correction of deficiencies <br /> in pavement thickness will be in strict accordance with those procedures <br /> described in Section 330 14 . 2 of the Florida D . O . T . Specifications for Road and <br /> ' Bridge Construction, 1986 Edition. <br /> L . Areas which are inaccessible to a roller (such as adjacent to curbs, gutters, <br /> ' manholes , etc .) shall be compacted by the use of hand tamps , small vibratory <br /> tampers, or other satisfactory means . <br /> ' M. The edges of the wearing surface shall be straight, true, and clean in all cases , <br /> and must meet the approval of the Engineer.
