10 . CURING <br /> A . General : The concrete shall be continuously cured fora eriod of at least 7 <br /> days . Curing shall be commenced after f nishina has been completed and as <br /> soon as the concrete has hardened sufficiently to permit application of the <br /> curet material without marring the surface . Any curing material removed or <br /> damaged during the 7 day veriod shall be replace immediately . <br /> After forms are removed, the surfaces exposed shall be cured by placing a <br /> berm of moist earth against them or by any of the methods described below, for <br /> the remainder of the 7 day curing period. <br /> c <br /> 1 . Wet Burlap Method : Burlap shall be placed over the entire exposed <br /> surface of the concrete with sufficient extension beyond each side to <br /> insure complete coverage. Adjacent strips shall be overlapped a <br /> minimum of six inches . The burlap shall be held securely in place such <br /> that it will be in continuous contact with the concrete at all times and no <br /> earth shall be permitted between the burlap surfaces at laps or <br /> between the burlap and the concrete. The burlap shall be kept <br /> thoroughly wet throughout the curing period. <br /> 2 . Membrane Curing Method : Clear membrane curing compound or <br /> white-pigmented curing compound shall be applied by hand sprayer in a <br /> single-coat continuous film at a uniform coverage of at least one <br /> gallon to each 200 square feet. Any cracks, checks or other defects <br /> appearing in the coating shall be recoated immediately. The curing <br /> compound shall be thoroughly agitated in the drum prior to <br /> application, and during application as necessary to prevent settlement of <br /> the pigment. <br /> 3 . Polyethylene Sheeting Method : Polyethylene sheeting shall be placed <br /> over the entire exposed surface of the concrete, with sufficient <br /> extension beyond each side to insure complete coverage . Adjacent <br /> strips shall be overlapped a minimum of six inches .
