TUESDAY, SEPTEEBER 6th 1927. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />the Court House in hero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday -september 6th 1927, with the <br />following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chaizman; Geo. A. Braddock; J.W. <br />7aBruce; J.J.P.Hamiiton• and Donald Forbes. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and <br />J. W. Knight, `Sheriff. <br />The Minutes of the previous'meeting were read and approved. <br />The Bond of 3.K.Kersey in the sum of *100.00 to carry a fire -arm was rejected on <br />the ground that the Board does not desire to approve such. bonds. <br />The Xothers Pension application of Mrs Bessie Knight of Vero Beach was approved <br />and warrant ordered issued each month in the sum of 020.00 <br />it was <br />ordered <br />that the new <br />road now <br />being <br />constructed <br />from the <br />Dixie Highway <br />to Roseland <br />be made <br />16 feet wide <br />instead <br />of nine <br />feet as at <br />present <br />contemplated. <br />it was ordered that the Cle3k advise all who are in arrears in payment of rents due <br />the County that 30 days will be given in t.ich to pay all balances $ow due. <br />The Deputy Sheriff Bond of C.S.Rice in the sum of U1,000.00 with A.W.Young and 9m. <br />Atkin as sureties was approved. <br />WMREAS there is not now sufficient funds available in the General Revenue Fund of <br />the County to meet current expenses and make final settlement with the Tax Assessor on <br />the 1926 tax roll; <br />THEREFORE BE IT REM= LVED that the sum of §59,000.00 be transferred from the Time <br />Warrant Fund, issue of 1925, upon the approval only of the State Comptroller, to said <br />General Revenue Fund to meet the current expenses now due and unpaid. <br />Upon such resolution being put 'before the Board it was unanimously adopted. <br />The following Road petition was received: <br />ROAD PETITION. <br />STATE OF .FLORIDA <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER) <br />TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: <br />Gentlemen: We the undersigned citizens of Indian River County, State of Florida, ; res- <br />pectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be laid <br />out as follows, to -wit: - <br />Commencing at the intersection of Section line between Sections thirty (30) <br />and Thirty-one (31) Township 'Thirty-three (33), South B.nge Forty (40) East, <br />with the present Dixie Highway (old road) thence along said Section line <br />between Sections Thirty (30) and 'Thirty-one ( 310 Township Thirty-three (33 ) <br />South, Eange Forty (40) East, in an Easterly direction to the point of <br />intersection with the new state Road now under construction. The distance <br />being about Five hundred feet . <br />Said road right-of-way to be not less than 'thirty feet in width. <br />We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laidxxx out and opened a <br />County Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said road <br />is sought <br />to <br />be laid out, <br />ih consideration <br />of <br />the sum of une dollar to <br />us <br />each and <br />severally <br />in <br />hand paid by <br />the said county <br />of <br />indian rover, the receipt <br />of <br />which is. <br />hereby acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown <br />by the plat accompanying this petition and relinquish all claims for damage by reason <br />9 <br />thereof. <br />it was ordered that A.S.Davis, Axel xallstrom and .11.L.Leisher, be appointed <br />a committee to view, mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. <br />I. <br />f] <br />1 <br />1 <br />
