1 <br />r <br />F1 <br />1 <br />the following noad petition was received and read: <br />ROAD PETITION. <br />NATE OF FLORIDA <br />CO'URTY OF INDIAN RIVER <br />TO THE RONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COIUISSIONERS: <br />Gentlemen: - <br />We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of Florida, <br />respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County road to be <br />laid out as follows, to -wit: <br />Commencing at S.W. Corner of Sec 22 T. 32 S.R.39 East, run <br />North on 'Sec. line between See. 22 and 21 Sections 16 and <br />15, =sections 10 and 9 to South quay or printer Beach road, <br />2-j Miles more or less. Said road to be fifty feet wide, <br />25 feet each side of Section line. <br />'We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a County <br />Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said road is <br />sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar to us each and <br />severally in hand paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of which is <br />hereby acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as <br />shown by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damages <br />by reason thereof. <br />It -was ordered that B.C.Walker, Paul H.Nisle and D.L.Leisher, be appointed a <br />Committee to view, mark and lay out said road and report to this Board. <br />Check for p26.00 account Refund to Mothers Pension .Fund was received, and ordeded <br />-paid in the Mothers Pension fund. <br />The tax Assessor having submitted statement of account between the County and <br />-his office on account of the 1926 tax roll, it was ordered that payment in full be <br />made the Tax Assessor on the following basis, - <br />Total County taxes assessed....383,117.47 <br />Total Commissions due.......... 4089072.34 <br />'Less errors and insolvencies.:. 310.84 <br />Net commissions to be paid..... 079761 50- <br />Payments'made to Assessor...... 69381.84 <br />Balance due Assessor........... 1,379.6E <br />70761.50 79761.5( <br />The .Assessor was called upon for a statement of his office expenses in connection <br />with the 1926 tax roll, and he submitted statement showing expenses of X2,707079 for the <br />year 1926. Vhereupon the Board then made settlement with the `tax Assessor upon the <br />following basis in accordance with the "Fee Bill' of 1923: <br />Amount due by the County....$7,761.50 <br />.Amount paid by State........ 841.01 <br />0%6602.51 <br />Office expenses............ 2,707.79 <br />Balance net fees........... 59894.72 <br />Pay Assessor all of first.. $59000.00 <br />605 of next thousand....... 536.82 <br />40o retained by County..... 357.90 <br />52894.72 51894.72 <br />It was ordered that warrant be issued to Geo T. Tippin, Tax Assessor in the sum of <br />.$1,021.76 for the balance due on account of 1926 tax roll. <br />It appearing from settlement made with the .Assessor of taxes that the amount to be. <br />paid him should be X500.00 each month, it was ordered that warrant for such amount be <br />drawn each month, and that warrant at this meeting be drawn for the sum of $400.00 to <br />balance up account as to the 1927 tax roll. <br />The Tax Collector filed his report of errors and insolvencies df the 1926 tax <br />roll showing I , upon which he cannot collect for the various reasons <br />
