ft <br />policy with the Moore Insurance Agency. <br />Ed Schlitt, Vera Moore, Warren Leuch, representing the Indian River Agent's <br />Stock Association, appeared before the Board and requested permission to run a survey and make <br />recommie`ndations to the Board regarding insurance matters. Such request was granted with the <br />understanding that the County would be under no obligation to the Insurance Beard as a result <br />of their survey. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, appearedbefore the Board <br />and made a report of her activities for the Month of March, said report was ordered filed <br />with the Clerk as provided by law. <br />The verdict from the Coroner's Ju* in the matter of the body of James Williams, <br />deceased, was presented and ordered filed with the Clerk. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />E S_ 0 ,U .1 o A - - SOUTH, EFORII ROAD <br />e <br />Upon Motion by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and) <br />carried, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida* <br />did, on December.4, 1951,.adopt its resolution designating certain reads in said county for <br />improvement and paving by the State Read Department of the State of Florida under ;the Second- <br />ary Read Program of the State Road'Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, one of the roads so designated for improvement was that road known as <br />South Gifford"Read extending from State Read 505 to State Road 5, a distance of approximately <br />3.3 miles; and, <br />WHEREAS, said road so designated has been used, established and maintained by <br />the Board of County Commissioners as a public road *or a width of 25 feet on either side of <br />the center line,of said road for a period of more than 25 years immediately prior to the date <br />of the adoption of this resolution; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, that this Board does herewith certify to the State Road Department of the State of <br />Florida that said road above designated has been designated, established, used and maintained <br />by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, as a public road for <br />its entire length as recited above. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County does herewith agree to indemnify and save harmless the State Road Department from any <br />claim or demand with respect to the designation, establishment, use and maintenance of said road <br />as a public road.as certified herein. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />The Board agreed to pay the sum of $50.00 for Elmer Harris„ County Service <br />Officer to attend the annual State-wide Service Officer's School and Conference to be held <br />May 10th to 14th, inclusive, at Daytona Beach, Florida. <br />
