0386 -Technical Specifications <br /> site all plant staking and irrigation materials if either has been installed. <br /> ' PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 1 . MATERIALS <br /> ' A. NOMENCLATURE : Conform to the names given in Standardized Plant Names , <br /> 1942 Edition, prepared by the American Joint Committee on Horticultural <br /> ' Nomenclature . Names of varieties not included therein, conform generally with <br /> names accepted in the nursery trade . <br /> B . MEASUREMENTS : Plants shall be measured when branches are in their normal <br /> position. Height and spread dimensions specified refer to main body of plant and <br /> not extreme branch tip to tip . The measurements specified are the minimum size <br /> acceptable and are the measurements after pruning, where pruning is required. <br /> C . B & B PLANTS : No plant shall be accepted when the ball of earth surrounding <br /> its roots has been cracked or broken . The diameter of the ball must be sufficient <br /> ' to encompass the fibrous and feeding root system necessary for the maximum <br /> development of the plant . Root pruning shall have been done at a minimum of <br /> ' four (4) weeks before planting at the job . <br /> D . MATERIALS : Pot bound plant materials will be unacceptable. <br /> E . PALMS : Boots shall remain on all palms for their entire height. <br /> ' 2 . BACKFILL <br /> A . Excavated material from digging receiving holes for the plants shall be used as <br /> backfill material. Fertilizer or soil mixes shall not be used. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 1 . PREPARATION <br /> ' A .
