ARTICLE 20-ANNUAL LEAVE <br /> Section 1 : Employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to accrue paid annual leave <br /> on the following basis : <br /> A. Ten working days vacation shall be earned each year for the first five <br /> years of continuous employment commencing with the anniversary date. <br /> Be At the start of the sixth year of continuous employment through the start <br /> of the fifteenth year of continuous employment, an employee shall be <br /> entitled to one additional vacation day per year as follows: <br /> Continuous Employment Annual Days Earned <br /> 6 Years 11 Days <br /> 7 Years 12 Days <br /> 8 Years 13 Days <br /> 9 Years 14 Days <br /> 10 Years 15 Days <br /> 11 Years 16 Days <br /> 12 Years 17 Days <br /> 13 Years 18 Days <br /> 14 Years 19 Days <br /> 15 Years 20 Days <br /> Section 2 : The maximum vacation accrual shall be thirty days. <br /> Section 3 : Employer rules and regulations will apply regarding notification for annual <br /> leave. <br /> Section 4 : Employees with the most time in total service years will be given preference <br /> when granting annual leave . <br /> ARTICLE 21 — LEAVE OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY <br /> Section 1 : The decision to grant a leave of absence without pay is a matter of <br /> administrative discretion. The Emergency Services Director shall determine each case on <br /> its own merit. <br /> Section 2 : Failure to return to work at the expiration of the approved leave shall be <br /> considered as a resignation. <br /> Section 3 : No medical leave or annual leave will be earned by an employee for the time <br /> that the employee is on leave without pay. <br /> 10 <br />
