for the election to be held in Special Tax School District No. 1, Indian River County, Florida, <br />on November 8, 1955; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board does herewith determine the number of 0 <br />Inspection boards for each precinct and does hereby appoint the personnel of the inspection <br />boards as heretofore determined and appointed by the Board of Public Instruction of Indian <br />River County, Florida, for the election to be held in Special Tax School District No. 1, <br />in Indian River County, Florida, on November 8, 1955, <br />BE <br />IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by this Board that the <br />form of ballot prepared by the <br />Board of Public Instruction <br />of Indian River County, Florida, <br />for the election to be held in <br />Special,Tax School <br />District No. 1, on November 8, 1955, be and the same is hereby ratified <br />and approved,;and <br />the Superintendent of Public Instruction of <br />Indian River County, Florida, is <br />hereby directed to <br />cause said form of ballot to be published <br />in a newspaper of general cir- <br />culation in Indian <br />River County, Florida, as required by law. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Watts, and carried, the foregoing <br />Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />Upon Motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and <br />carried, Rosalie Brown was approved as an additional nurse for the Indian River.County <br />Health Unit, <br />On Motion made by.Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton <br />and carried, Chairman Graves and Road Superintendent E. E. Carter, were designated a <br />committee to select and employ an architect for the County. <br />Resignation of Jack T. McCown, County Agricultural Agent was received and <br />accepted with regret. Mr. McCown stated that his resignation becomes effective November 1, <br />1955 to accept a promotion to the State Extension staff at the University of Florida, however, <br />at this time still subject to the approval of the State Board. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, appeared before the Board <br />and made a report of her activities for the Month of September, and same was ordered filed <br />with the Clerk as provided by law. <br />On Motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner warren and carried, <br />Douglas Baker, Clerk was instructed to record deed from The Trustees of the Internal Improve- <br />ment Fund to Indian River County, covering the Wiest y of SEY of NEY4. Sec, 25, Tnsp. 33, Rge. <br />39. <br />A letter was received from the DeKold Real Estate Agency wanting to buy the <br />above land for $75.00 per acre, however, the Board agreed that they needed the land for public <br />purposes and therefore it was not for sale. <br />Clerk Baker advised the Board that Mr. Pete Toler of the Game & Fresh Water <br />Fitsh Commission stated that Indian River County had been placed in the critical category <br />regarding hyacinth control and that $6196.00 had been elected to be spent in this county <br />for the purpose of new equipment, salaries and eradication of Hyacinths over a two year <br />period beginning November 1, 1955 and that a survey would be completed in order to determine <br />what areas needed attention first. Mr. Toler stated that he would contact or meet with the <br />Board at some future date and would expect a report at that time, therefore, Chairman Graves <br />appointed on the Hyacinth Control Committee, H. C. Watts, E. E. Carter, S. N. Smith, Jr. <br />and Aubrey L. Vaddell. <br />
